Good at Falling and In the End It Always Does have quickly become comfort albums for me.
The Japanese Houseās music simultaneously makes me extremely hopeful and extremely existential. The perfect amount of sad to be, in my opinion. I can dance and cry at the same time which is my ideal dance party scenario.
Amberās lyrics are incredibly intelligent and I find myself wondering how she comes up with it all. Every listen to each song is like the the first time Iāve heard it. I canāt get enough!!!
My favorite song by them is Follow My Girl, I listen to it like 5 times a day at least.

Every song on this release is great for different reasons, but āDionneā has the line: Wishing that someone would film the way Iām looking at you right now, I want to watch it back and then kill myself. Iām almost never a fan of features in songs, and this is true for Justin Vernonās feature in āDionneā, but people love Bon Iver and the addition is completely inoffensive to me, so weāre cool.

It always amazes me when songwriters can capture lifeās little miracles so effortlessly and Katieās ability to do so often makes me well up. This is my favorite of the three (excellent) singles off her debut solo album What A Relief, what is sure to be one of the best releases of the year.
Bonus points for fiddle and Amber Bain of the Japanese House on vocals.

The Innocence Mission is a band that I started listening to this summer. If you enjoy The Sundays or Mazzy Star/Hope Sandoval, I think youād love this band.
Their lyrics are, to me, extremely uplifting and positive. As someone who tends to wallow, sometimes I need my music to lift me up. The Innocence Mission makes me feel really hopeful.
My favorite songs by them are Beautiful Change, Spinning, and Lakes of Canada.
