This could be one of those rare things that – somehow – reminds you who you are, or who you used to be, those parts you thought were gone. (And trust me, there will be threads. So many threads.) I’ve learned, too, that there are whole stretches of life where you’ve been a stranger to yourself for so long that admitting it feels terrifying, insane even. But without that one thing to confess to, to get honest with – to untangle the mess of ordinary, maddening thoughts – you might never know what’s actually there, buried under the static.

I have a hard time feeling like myself sometimes or being able to put to words who I am, but my journal from senior year of high school jogs me right back to where I started and what my core essence is. highly recommend if you have them, and doubly so if you experienced Something that put a wrench in your identity but have journals from before that event. everyone should be putting their life to words!

i know it's basic but keeping a daily journal has been one of the most grounding things in my life. you don't need to shell out $$$ on a travelers' notebook and a snazzy pen, but just repeating the daily act of physically writing your thoughts down is a wonderful thing. i keep a daily recollection/diary sort of thing along with a sort of freeform commonplace book where i jot down thoughts or lyric ideas or cool words i read and had to look up definitions of. it's nerd shit but the sort of positive affirming nerd shit that everyone needs at least a little bit of. also the amount of stuff you forget over the course of a week/month/year is astounding -- doing this is fun in part because you can read through your past entries (good and bad) again with fresh eyes.

Sometimes painful and not for everyone, but goddamn sometimes it feels good to know what you’ve overcome. A HUGE practice in being kind to all versions of yourself, past and present. I sometimes annotate my old ones in the margins, give myself a little “good luck.”

It’s nice to log off TikTok, IG, and Twitter for a few days or a week and use much more low key socials to get a new perspective. I’ve mostly been into Letterbox and Duolingo. PYI also fits this vibe. Sipping some iced green tea on a farm in the Midwest not giving a shit about people’s online today. ❤️‍🔥

It's taken roughly a century, but the "autoped," that quintessential New York invention, has made its grand return through Revel. And here's the kicker: it's a revelation. The moment you hop on, you're hit with the sensation that you've unlocked a new way of navigating the city with unparalleled nimbleness. As you glide along, it's as if the very neighborhoods themselves unfold before your eyes, revealing the intricate geography that ties this metropolis together. This is freedom redefined, a simple yet ingenious idea that infuses a dash of excitement into our everyday commutes, a much-needed thrill for journeys that typically span just a few brisk city blocks.
