… when you wake up in the middle of the night to pee or whatever. The stress of “HOW MUCH TIME TILL YOUR ALARM GOES OFF” will inevitably make it harder to fall back asleep. Maybe you have 2 hours, maybe you have fifteen minutes. Let the mystery be. You’ll zonk out quicker, and when you wake up, you probably won’t know how long you slept for anyway.

You dont have to do the mental math each time you look at it— which takes away a lot of the need to consciously note the time which takes away the need to consciously remember to check the time. then when you look at it as you do the dishes or cook you actually start to passively notice how much time is being spent. and you can tell in the morning exactly if you’re extra late to work because it’s right there even if you dont want to check your phone to admit to yourself you’re late for work. And I’m sure theres something about having more trust in the things around you that allays some inner havoc
