Incredible music to waltz around town to, maybe even get up to some nefarious shenanigans maybe not Harry lime level nefarious though. Who doesn’t love a good leitmotif. I’ve seen people compare this to SpongeBob music and sure yeah that’s pretty high praise. Also consider this a rec for the third man, genuinely one of the best movies ever but we’re not here to talk about that!

One of the GOATed movie soundtracks, perfect from end to end. We tend to focus on the aesthetics, storytelling, costuming, and complex relationships in Wes Anderson films, but let’s give our flowers to the music direction too 💐 (I see you Mark Mothersbaugh) If you’re looking for a way to romanticize your life, I highly recommend listening to movie soundtracks, especially when you’re out and about. It lends a sense of gravitas mixed with whimsy, depending on what type of movie score/OST you play. I’m giving The Royal Tenenbaums a spin today in honor of Gene Hackman, another GOAT.

As a kid, I didn’t understand English for the first few years of my early life, but I LOVED movies and soundtracks. In retrospect, I think I clung onto the music so much more than most kids because it helped me understand the plot in the absence of dialogue. That being said: The Incredibles was one of my favorite movies (which we watched on our big box TV) because of how exhilarating and suspenseful it felt as a kid— all thanks to the amazing jazz soundtrack. Highly recommend listening to it, and if you haven’t watched the movie it‘s completely fine; imo this soundtrack is one you can vibe and enjoy without any plot context

morricone is known for cinematic soundtracks from spaghetti westerns and such, but he's got a whole collection of 1960s lounge music that is just so genuinely fun and silly. something about the dippy little organ in this song and the toot-y french horn just makes me happy.

It’s what my basket is for, if it breaks then I’ll just die it’s not that serious. I don’t even have that many eggs to begin with. I grew up in a single-egg-basket-household, who are these people with multiple egg baskets, do they walk among us?

I feel like I’ve picked up so much good music by just instantly downloading an opening act’s album right after their set. Just saw Wishy at baby’s all right last night and they had a band called Plastic open up, tight band & tight name, I’m sold. I feel like too many people skip the opener and I get it it can get tiring but I already know I’m gonna like the headliner lemme get a nice little surprise. this has GOT to be my last music rec for a little bit…
