i went on this RV trip across the country with my family during the covid summer because we wanted to get out of the house but not get anyone sick or get sick ourselves, so we rented an RV and took off and basically drove from destin to the grand canyon and back. but i have a lot of memories of eating while we drove.
1. this really good homemade peach ice cream i got from an old man on the side of the road in texas. i remember sitting with the window open while we drove through the hill country eating the worlās most delicious ice cream and getting rained on a little. it felt like a movie.
2. eating pad thai leftovers from my birthday while driving through yellowstone. i was sitting the front seat with a container of pad thai takeout in wyoming and just looking at all the trees and rivers through the massive RV windows. amazing moment.

I love windscreen time. Ā Itās therpeutic. Ā I live on a farm in ohio but do a lot of work in New York.Sometimes Iāll drive. Ā I listen to books. Ā I treat myself to a two cheeseburger meal at McDonaldās.I have a little air cooled 911 and planning a 2500 mile road trip in it to a friends wedding in July. Ā Thereās something about bonding with a machine that I love. Ā I love the smell of oil and gas and manually rowing through gears on beautiful byways. Ā Stress drops away and itās meditative for me.

i have always been nomadic at heart, so my favorite thing to do is just pack up the car with camping gear and snacks and pick a direction. make sure you have gas money and stop at all the stupid lil stops you see along the way like the world's largest rocking chair and only eat at small local restaurants and drink too much caffeine and take lots of pictures. it's so freeing and you'll have so many fun stories.

Not like āoh man Iām driving four hours to get to Fernieā road trips but like a
āIām in the backseat of the family van and it smells like suitcases and I have my favourite pillow scrunched between the cracked leather seat and the windows and Iām staring at those black dots along the windows edge because why are those there? And its also 5:00am in Revelstoke and weāre about to stop at the borderline satirically named āLa Baguetteā for breakfast and the sun isnāt fully up but you can see the mountainsā
Road trip. You know. One of those!

i went to loch ness today!! iāve wanted to go there ever since i was a little kid reading my monsters and cryptids book from the book fair cause i was a freaky little spooky kid. did not see any monsters but i bought a little figurine from the nessie hunter guy in dore :)
