This one almost got ya boy crying man. Beautiful film that’s really hard to explain but just know that it’ll have you thinking “man what the hell going on” then a few mins later you’re like “nah these kids ain’t shit” and finally you’re on the verge of tears praying the little homies get a happy ending. Beautiful film, will definitely watching again, just get them tissues ready man.

(no spoilers ahead) I went to see it together with my sister. I cried, she cried, we both crode. A lot. The first five minutes of the film already got me. Andrew‘s and Florence‘s acting is phenomenal. It all felt so genuine and real - which makes sense considering that Florence really shaved her hair for this and that the story hits home for Andrew because of his mother. My sister and I were honestly baffled upon seeing that they didn‘t receive a single Oscar nomination. That gas station scene alone deserved at least one. I rarely watch romance movies and I knew this one was going to be heartwrenching, but I really enjoyed it. They portrayed the ending in such a beautiful way, a way that is gently feeding you the truth whilst causing your heart to shatter simultaneously. It‘s the perfect movie to watch on a cold evening, with a warm blanket and your fav feel-good snack. And most definitely tissues. (Gave it 4 stars on Letterboxd)

Is it just me or social media is slowly but surely starting to feel wholesome again? I might just be living in a bubble, but I feel like young people have started to realize the harm of excess scrolling, prioritizing actual connections and taking time off from internet. With all the overflowing capitalism and advertising, people are starting to create their own communities free of that, take this site for example. Not quite the Wild West internet of the y2k but something else entirely, something more.. real. Authenticity is cool again.

I feel like people who actively dislike winter struggle with being grateful for the present. They are always looking forward to the "next thing" - spending the whole week waiting for friday, whole winter waiting for summer, whole year waiting for the next year - waiting their life away. Life becomes so much more wonderful once we live for the here and now instead of tomorrow. It is up to ourselves if we choose to take the most of the moment we have been given or not... snow is gonna be there anyway.
