I watched Nosferatu tonight, a dark and stormy night. The confession is that I’m still afraid of the dark. I run out of dark garages and shadowed rooms. I feel like the only person in the world who could be back in their childhood bedroom for the holidays thinking about the monster under the bed. And I’m only being half dramatic right now

i don’t think i will ever get over this movie. i’ve already seen it twice in theatres and i cried and was scared and was full of joy. i love gothic horror more than anything else. i love beautiful visuals and some weird little fucked up things happening. i love having the ability to think critically and analyze movies, especially ones with such powerful themes and amazing metaphors/representations like this one. eggers you will always be famous

crimson peak, bram stoker’s dracula, nosferatu, the others. perfect spooky atmospheric stuff. i’m also a fan of slashers like scream, my bloody valentine and halloween because who isn’t. and as for movies that actually scared the hell out of me, try religious horrors like the excorcist, prince of darkness, the omen and rosemary’s baby.

My Texan girlfriend introduced me to this beautiful experience. Speaking from personal experience, if your northern sensibilities make you believe that skillet queso is not the perfect accompaniment to cozy seats and the silver screen, you cannot be more wrong. Currently hoping that our DC theatre will still have the witches brew for me to sip on as I rewatch wicked for the fourth time.
