Find a coffee creamer you really love, or a breakfast that was your favorite when you were a kid, read a rly good book or article you’ve been excited abt for ten min when you wake up instead of social media, lay out a cute outfit the night before, plan what perfume & jewelry you’ll wear if you’re into that

On days when I don’t have a concrete agenda to plow through I struggle to peel myself out of the sheets. This is what helps me: - I leave my shades open the night before so my body wakes up with the sun. - I try to keep my room clean. Mostly to avoid the feeling of being “stuck”. - I think of breakfast, & use it to treat myself. The excitement of trying a new recipe or eating something familiar is sometimes enough to catapult me off my mattress. - A nice shower. Steam, music, eucalyptus. Make the experience enjoyable. I’ve been thinking about buying these waterproof lamps to upgrade my shower environment. Ambient light over the big light always.

I can’t call it a morning routine because i work night shifts so i wake up around 9/10 am. However , i had to trick my mind to be able to wake up In shape. Let’s go straight to the point : - to be able to wake up you should sleep, ironic Right ? Well hear me out, you can’t expect yourself to wake up at the same time as your alarm if you barely had your beauty sleep, sleeping early = waking up in shape ( yes i said in shape and not early, focus on the healthy sleep rather than waking up earlier). - to be able to sleep peacefully you should prepare it (Our elders were right, it’s that god damn phone) - i once happen to experience an internet outage for a full 24h so i couldn’t use my phone or laptop to watch anything, guess what happened ? I slept in the dark, with no noise around 2am, when did i wake up ? 8 am !! Without even feeling tired! - so NO screen before bed time ! Try it slowly (10mins - 15mins - 30mins - until u can ro a full hour) - the no screen time doesn’t mean staying in the dark tho ! Dim your lights as much as possible, read something (PAPER ONLY - no ebook no digital distraction) 5/10/20 pages doesn’t matter, just prepare your mind for peace and no distractions. - don’t overthink your night overthinking, use it to your advantage, instead of thinking something that stressed you, switch it to “manifesting“ your future, think about your next trip, imagine yourself already in that city/country, where you wanna go etc … (trust me in no time you will fall asleep) - one in position, keep your eyes closed, don’t open them no matter what, remember no distractions are allowed. Once you wake up, depends on you, create your own morning routine. - to wake up, stupid as it seems but TALK to yourself, yes ! Talk to yourself, say (i am awake i am awake i am awake, in 3 i will get off my bed, 1,2,3 and GET UP) - NO phone at all cost ! (avoid that dopamine hit please ! Stay in the silence ! Feel your body, smell the fresh morning air by opening the window etc…) - Drink Water first thing in the morning! -They call it internal shower or smth like that lol i don’t know- but it helps get you a bit more awake too. - wash your face, don’t be harsh on yourself, use warm water to wake up slowly, consistency is key, slowly you will switch to cold water. - maybe even take a fresh shower ! Showers help a loot to get the needed energy. - prepare your breakfast, try to avoid anything sweet tho, keep it healthy and simple. With those simple steps, you can add more and more to build your morning routine, you can add : - walking - cycling - reading a book - gym - listening to slow music as u prepare your breakfast and lunch for work Etc …

at least casually. don’t delete the accounts but don’t have the apps on your phone either. rediscover your love of reading thru the magic of recognizing titles strangers are holding on the subway. become a subway reader. don’t use sound as an escape from your thoughts/feelings/surroundings. grocery shopping without headphones is actually kind of beautiful! pick up a new hobby or two or three. one of them should be something you’re not good at, and at least one should be no- or low-cost. never. stop. learning. the library, the parks and rec department, and nearby museums offer great materials already but also usually have free lectures or courses. go outside more. like, a lot more. (took this much less literally, so apologies if it’s not what you’re looking for lol — as a narcoleptic I have no tips on how to Not Sleep since Sleep is basically my job)
