is recommending a recommending platform on a recommending platform silly? maybe, but i will not stop going on about this app omg. essentially you follow curators and friends who log their favourite bars, restaurants, shops, hotels, galleries, anything, all over the world. i love city breaks and i’m so much more excited to go somewhere when i’ve saved all kinds of stuff on the map. lots of my all time favourite places i would never have found if not for this. add me if you download it! @arrowsmith

ive been using it for over a year now and I love it! you just check in everywhere you go and you can add a photo or caption to your checkin. It creates a timeline of everywhere you’ve been and you can see a map of every place you’ve been to as well. It’s really old and not that well maintained, but it’s one of my favorite things on my phone. And it’s not addictive because there’s nothing to really look at! It’s also useful when people ask for recs for places to go in a city or region since you can just open a map of that location and see where you’ve been and what you’ve liked. It’s more fun if you have other people who use it regularly, but also nice if you just use it on your own!

a friend just messaged me “you and your apps, you should have an app to recommend all your apps” and I realised that yeah I really do love a good app. I may do separate posts for apps in the future, but apart from the obvious ones (Insta, Spotify etc) here are some of my favourites: PI.FYI Notion Letterboxd Natural Cycles Planta Shuffles Swipewipe Borrow Box GG Serialisd Substack (love substack notes as a Twitter abstainer) Heads Up
