one option is to take inspo from others. think of fictional characters or real people who you think of as fun or cool or different from you in an interesting way? what stands out to you about them? and try to model that. another option is to slightly change hobbies/habits you already have. walk a different path to work, paint in a different color, sit in a new coffee shop. perspective can offer you something “different”. one last thought is to make a new friend. talking to new people can help you see the world a different way.

i swear the sand of my hometown beach is made up exclusively of crushed oysters. i find them everywhere. in my backyard and in parking lots and always inconveniently under my foot whenever i’m not wearing shoes. they’re pretty though. shiny. i find lots of different colors, but my favorite is probably this dark blue.

i love how community building tea time is. every once in a while all my neighbors will get together and we’ll all bring sweets and mugs and we’ll sit together and catch up. it’s fun because neighbors are a more random bunch than any sort of pre formed friend group. so the stories and perspectives you hear are outside the scope of what you're used to.
