Last summer I went on a near full month road trip with 3 of my close friends, starting in Seattle down to Mexico then back up to Utah.
It got me out of several comfort zones and pushed me to the edge constantly in the best way.
Definitely a trip I’ll forever think and talk about. So grateful for those three.
took my first ever Girls Trip up and down great ocean road. drove on the other side of the road slept in the worst hostel and got close with girls i met 8 days ago!
Not like “oh man I’m driving four hours to get to Fernie” road trips but like a
“I’m in the backseat of the family van and it smells like suitcases and I have my favourite pillow scrunched between the cracked leather seat and the windows and I’m staring at those black dots along the windows edge because why are those there? And its also 5:00am in Revelstoke and we’re about to stop at the borderline satirically named ‘La Baguette‘ for breakfast and the sun isn’t fully up but you can see the mountains”
Road trip. You know. One of those!
Bringing my digicam on walks has helped me pay attention to small and mundane things around me everyday. It’s beautiful capturing a moment that others are living!
Here’s a picture I took of a truck which has a logo that matches the mountain peaks behind it! :)
I bring a sketchbook wherever I go, especially when I know I’ll be going to places with art or interesting architecture. If you’re not an “artist” or have little experience in physical mediums I think it’s still a great mental exercise and cannot recommend it enough! Every skill is learned!
