ever since I got this app i’ve been feeling like i should get rid of instagram altogether. recently, i’ve been feeling that even more. i get so overwhelmed on that app. i feel like i see too much of everything! and they’re constantly explaining why everything in our lives is killing us or that i’ve “been doing X wrong“ my whole life. and there are a few good moments every now and then, but i feel like they don’t outweigh the mental toll it takes on me. ive deleted instagram before for social media detoxes, but this feels like it might be a bit more permanen. anyway, that’s all. just wanted to share!

information/content fatigue is sooo real. deleting instagram (tik-tok and twitter too) has to be the best thing i did for my self this yr.

i recently began to ask myself why am i using all these apps and do i really need all of them, and i started realizing that the things i’ll miss out with these apps is so much more than without them, i knew i had the idea that my worth was tied to my online presence and i’m happy that i’m getting rid of that mentality.. i had so many memories in my snapchat account but i ended up deleting the account and the app because if i didn't do it than i may never, later that day i removed my twitter accounts and the app from my phone and i’m so glad i did, and i replaced them with healthier and less time consuming apps till i decrease my screen time gradually

sometimes the things that the internet offers you feel like they’re poking an open wound and you need to delete Instagram for 10-24 hours. this app has helped me do that bc for better or worse… I need to be Scrolling On Phone and this is much more calm

it’s the closest thing i’ve ever gotten to experience deleting and redownloading dating apps. great measurement/lowest bar/last resort that somehow works for declining mental states
