finished reading this like 2 weeks ago, PI.BKCLB read it a few months ago but i was waiting to get my hands on a physical copy. very worth the wait! a challenging read, some of it def went over my head but has such interesting things to say about creation, mortality and god.

ik i have two answers BUT breath of life, i think, contains a lot of sentiments that ali smith has (passion and care for humanity in an almost quasi religious way) but it screams in a way that ali smith sings (idk if that makes sense). i think clarice lispector is probably the most human person to grace the earth and her prose reflect an odd reverence for people even though they‘re not very happy go lucky. breath of life does this best, i recommend going into it blind, but i will say that it is the best answer any book has had to the why are we here question

one of my favorite books of all time. some of her book’s translations are difficult but this one captures the flow of her words so beautifully. basically a nontraditional love story that i think anyone can relate to

My favorite book ever! Basically the entire thing is about a woman having an existential crisis about killing a cockroach. I recently sucked up a flying cockroach with a vacuum!! (yep you heard that right!)..also i had noooo idea that cockroaches could fly..but yeah it was a horrific and terrifying experience and reminded me of how much I love this book.
