Saw this on an insta ad. The app is a lil buggy and slow but I'm sure it will improve. The big thing going for this platform is obv the sincerity & simplicity, no advertising or clout chasing weirdos here (yet?), no people trying to steal your attention by gaming an algorithm Sometimes I see pics of people tryna look hot on insta with dumb captions underneath... this person I know went on vacation, pic of beach, move on. I might heart the post cause they're my friend and I'm socially obligated, but I don't actually like it and would really rather not feed their ego cause I know they don't deserve it This place, for now, is maybe more real and interesting. Just people writing weird shit from off the dome, maybe for themselves, maybe in hopes others will see. Keep in mind I came to this conclusion after scrolling some posts for no more than 2 mins When bereal started it was kinda casual and simple in its approach like this, but was unfortunately too interested in growing and added a bunch of unnecessary features just to become like all the apps before it. But this place is still in its infancy and it's already all that it needs to be. I just don't know if it will stay because although people say they like sincerity, they (including me) will still find ways to optimize and control their public image over time, will show less and less of their real character Thank you for creating this app, excited to see the social experiement unfold. Idk if I'll be posting on here that much. Cute retro UI. I like

I wanted to make my first post! My name is Sara :) when i was a kid learning how to speak I couldn’t pronounce my name and I kept introducing myself as “Zjazja“ (I guess the letters S and R were too difficult for my 5year old tongue) My mom thought that was really cute and turned it into my nickname. I’m in my 20s now and often times when she sees me she still calls me zjazja. I love the nostalgia so I rolled with it and made it my nickname online too. I am an illustrator and intermediate graphic designer, when I saw an ad for this app I loved how cozy the style felt and had to join in! A lot of social media today is too business centered and focused on algorithm and engagement, this is a nice change of pace to have a little corner for yourself to share the world around u. My goal using this app is to get out of my comfort zone of self isolation and put myself out there more. Nice to meet u! 💛

First post!! EEK!

AYEEEEE… i heard about this app on a random reel on instagram, i know absolutely nobody who uses this app but i feel like it’s more productive for me than my traditional doomscrolling.. here are some finds from this app already: i saw a review for june henry’s new album “infinite money glitch” on this app last night and it’s pretty fire. im thinking of preordering the CD as a little treat for myself to start building up my collection of physical media i also saw someone say they started recording themselves talking and then they watch it back the next day. i think this may be the next move for me it seems like a good way to get a better understanding of who i am. ————— i’ve been watching a lot more movies recently and spending a loooootttt of time alone. the next semester is going to start soon so i can’t wait for what that brings me. heres to a new year and hopefully to a new better me. till next time 👋

Junk Journaling?

These past few days, I’ve been having a knack of writing out my feelings, experiences and just little random thoughts that would appear in my head from time to time. However, I’ve been wanting to amp it up and really improve my journaling life. I stumbled across junk journling. I’d see people collect the randomest of things, from receipts to bottle caps, to even clothing tags; which in my head, it just looked like junk to me. However, the end result of these junk entries always turned out to be so beautifully put together. It gave the journal personality, and even made the journal entries look more raw. I was in awe. I have not started yet, but i’ve already been collecting some things such as train tickets, reciepts, sticker, and postcard. I didn’t realize how many creative entries can be used with such things. Hello? It’s even more environmentally friendly. Things that one would just throw away after one use, can be reused and collected as a memento. I can’t wait to partake in this activity, and i’ll probably start posting it on here too.
