For years, I only drank white. Then, loving red became a well known personality trait of mine. Now, I love white again. Its wonderful, recognizing the fickle nature of living, how we are never constant, and the person of yesterday is (joyously) never the same as the one today.

I feel like when I was younger, and honestly even up until recently, I really enjoyed things that made people perceive me a specific way but like? no one cares (positive connotation)! and we need to indulge in smallish things that make us happy. Right now I’m loving mulled wine, we all need to be drinking mulled wine. The one positive thing about trends is when something is popular it is everywhere. Let’s get mulled wine everywhere so I can enjoy it in Vermont but ALSO in California. Needing it.

I’m 35 but my drinking habits are 87. Dare I say I have….wine fatigue? I’m sure that will change in a few hours, but sometimes I feel like I can’t drink another glass of “pet nat.” I love sherry, I love vermouth, I love white wine on ice, complete with cocktail onions just like my Grandma Prue used to drink. For vermouth, there are a lot of interesting small brands out there doing cool stuff with it, but I love this one from Partida Creus the most (anything they make is wonderful). I like it in a small glass with a large ice cube, topped with a lil soda water. For wines, I wouldn’t disrespect anything too expensive with an ice cube, but I do love a basic, straightforward white wine that could be described as “easy drinking” with “light acidity.” The cocktail onion makes it, trust me (and my grandma).

Literally every meal is made better by the addition of an egg. Rice? Stir fry an egg in. Sandwich? Fried egg. Any breakfast food? Scramble one on the side. Life is better with eggs 🙏

Any reason to go to the pub really! But I love the camaraderie of all doing a quiz together:
- coming up with a silly team name
- being rowdy and bantering with the quizmaster
- that feeling when you got a question right that you weren't sure about
- always an excuse to get another pint
- when a round is announced and you know that someone on your team is about to nail it
- winning (naturally)
It's just extremely fun
