5 years ago on the subway i complimented an old lady wearing a pin-covered jacket and an elf-like hat She asked me which pin was my favourite & I pointed to one of animal from the muppets. She took it off, handed it to me, and walked away before I could thank her. It felt like I’d been given a good luck charm by some mystical being. I mentioned the moment 2 years ago in a songwriting class, and turns out she was a regular at the TA’s place of work :’) I think about her very frequently

my mum said that old people feel so ignored and the number one thing you can do as a young person is to give them a compliment. I have actually only done this once but I think it’s so fire when an elderly person puts on a good outfit so I complimented an old lady’s garms recently and her face lit up crazy style

This director-level employee left the company that I work at and when we were saying our goodbyes she said i was so talented and amazing to work with. That or once these older college girls said i looked like a young mick jagger i think that was a compliment and not a jab

A bit of a slap to my old coworker when his mom came in, she bought something and as she was heading out said that to me as she held my hand. It was very sweet and I think about it from time to time bc I never considered myself to be that kind while working lol not exactly a compliment to be used over again but still a fav nonetheless.
