i highly recommend the works of Masaaki Yuasa. specifically: The Night Is Short Walk On Girl, Mind Game, and Inu-Oh. super unique, whimsy animation style. always something fresh and unlike anything you’ve seen before. cute slice of life stories with really creative ideas to take them to the next level. love ya!

I have A LOT of animes to recommend but if you are looking for something like that I’d go for Sakura Cardcaptor (it’s from years ago but one of my favorites) cause it’s cute and has magic involved etcccc and you can try Fruits Basket too! I’d like to recommend Horimiya too cause it’s a super cute series (but no magic involved). It’s high school love themed! 💫 AND for movies please please watch Your name or Suzume!!! 🙂‍↕️

genres: cyberpunk, Science fiction, action movie When watching, you can notice a number of references (including to the works of Quentin Tarantino), but this doesn’t make the plot any less unique, quite the contrary, I would call Akudama Drive a fairly memorable anime with dynamic narration and animation. Violent and dark at times, but still worth watching and recommending. I can confidently say that this anime is one of my favourites ✨✨

my taste in anime and manga is a bit all over the place, but if we’re like-minded, then you might just absolutely love these <3 this isn’t in any particular order 01. wonder egg priority — last three eps or so are rushed and the ending is kinda wonky but overall a good take of the magical girl genre 02. the ice guy and his cool female colleague — just a chill romance with some supernatural sprinkled in 03. bibliomania — obscure asf with no official english translation and the original japanese release was limited I believe 04. frieren: beyond journey’s end — favourite anime alongside flip flappers. a slice of life fantasy 05. apothecary diaries — fun mystery set in a fictional country inspired by imperial china 06. the summer hikaru died — a promising horror with implied queer characters. take what I said with a grain of salt since it’s been a while since I read it 07. kaguya-sama: love is war — hilarious romcom about rich high schoolers minus the protagonist 08. chainsaw man — a fever dream ngl, but a good one 09. uzumaki — classic horror. has some romance elements tbh 10. haikyuu —my original favourite sports anime ^^ it holds a special place in my heart 11. blue lock + episode nagi — my absolute fave sports manga rn even though I can’t take it seriously at times. kaiser’s my favourite red flag 12. girls’ last tour — end of the world slice of life. bittersweet 13. violet evergarden — fyi the relationship is weird, but I just choose to ignore it. aside from that, everything else is beautiful though) 14. flip flappers — so very underrated! the fandom is pretty much nonexistent. sci-fi magical girls) 15. good night punpun — definitely not for the faint of heart. depression incarnate and has many mature themes and triggering topics
