Vilma is a vertical display cabinet composed of two modules: a drawer unit covered with rattan fiber and a storage cabinet with solid huanacaxaxtle wood doors and glass shelves. The back of the cabinet is lined with mirror, which provides greater visual depth. The drawers of the cabinet open easily by means of a push system. At the base, the cabinet is supported on four legs turned from solid huanacaxaxtle wood. The doors open with a pair of carbon steel pulls. During the experimentation process, they discovered a texture formed by vertical stripes generated by striking the wood with the head of a metal file. They decided to apply this technique to create a captivating weave on Ramon's doors. In addition, the weave of the body leaves the corners exposed, giving rise to a peculiar elbow shape that stands out from the rest of the furniture. Comité de Proyectos is an interior and furniture design firm founded in 2014 by Andrea Flores and Lucía Soto in Mexico City. They study the relationship between people and spaces making an x-ray of the lives of their clients in each project to offer an aesthetic proposal and a set of spatial solutions that promote the dynamics of integration between individuals and the spaces to be inhabited. Their objects are divided in two: products and collection. Products are those that arise from the specific needs of a project. The collection objects are the result of a work of reflection and aesthetic search. They think of design as a cultural conductor and it is in the collection objects that they find a space to communicate what motivates them.

They look good, save floor space, are modular, high quality, and will last a lifetime. You can switch out any of the shelves for a different size, drawers, or even a small desk. The process of measuring your space and having a 1:1 conversation with a planner feels very fancy. I'm looking forward to carrying these shelves with me as I get older.
