Very few people are making music with as much emotional sincerity and passion as Big Sad 1900. An L.A rapper who has been pumping out tape after tape of incredible music that needs to be talked about.

honestly one of the few artists from this era of electronic music that I still go back to and whose new output I'm still keeping up with. Dreamstone was the first vinyl i ever got and the Hieroglyphics, Search of the Miraculous, and Art is Dead EPs are still no skippers for me. these releases CARRIED me through my sadboy years. if you like bass music, UK garage, or lofi-hip hop i highly recommend giving Sorrow a listen. some top songs of his: Lover's Charm (linked) Mourner No More Hesitation Never Too Far Girl I Miss You Qualm This Way (Asa & Sorrow Remix)

earl sweatshirt's some rap songs has been the album to really get my creative juices flowing lately while also comforting me during a not-unusual winter depression. it's been part of my life since i was 15, but lately i've felt especially connected to it in my adulthood. it's a moving self-portrait that's complemented so, so well by his 9-minute short nowhere, nobody. you should give it a listen if you haven't already, and if you have, listen closer

MIKE has become my favorite hip hop artist this past year. I was having a hard time finding new hip hop that I really liked every element from production, lyricism, delivery, etc. When first hearing MIKE, instantly that feeling was quelled. His release, Tears of Joy was my introduction and it was on repeat most of last winter. Weight of the World came out at the beginning of the summer and feels a lot heavier to me. Maybe itโ€™s just the timing and everything going on, but itโ€™s felt much more welcoming recently.
