ive never been a nail girly. I work with my hands too much and I’m super lazy and low maintenance. but I got my nails done for a trip a couple weeks ago and it’s been so fun figuring out how to function with them. when I tuck them into my kickboxing gloves at just the right angle so that they don’t hurt when I hit the bag, I feel so girlboss.

I'm bad at keeping track of the cyclical tasks like cutting your nails so I always cut them really short and then let them grow out for weeks until I cut them again. But the transition from long nails to very short is so so satisfying to me. My hands feel so functional and like my own. I like typing without feeling my nails. Being able to do things with my hands without subconsciously worrying / being aware of my nails. It's just a beautiful feeling, childishly joyful in some type of way.

Recently i decided to try press-ons as a way to protect my nails from myself and manage the impulse to pick (#bfrbgang), but didnt know i would be having sooo much fun getting in touch with a sense of glamour and experimenting with femininity in a way i hadn’t before :)

these last few months, I’ve been really into baking, intricate tiered cakes. I’m just kind of figuring it out as I go along. I’ve been making my friends cakes for their birthday. This is the most recent one I made. I’m trying to keep it as a fun, hobby and not monetize it like I do with all my other hobbies lol

I shoot with an olympus mju ii and even though it’s an expensive, impossible to repair camera (I’ve had to replace mine once already) I love this little point and shoot. it’s great for fun film pics but also capable of really stunning portrait work of my friends :)
