Going through people you know even just asking if they know anyone working in a restaurant who can check if their restaurant is hiring is really the best way. But for what it's worth I thought applying directly through companies would get me jobs the fastest but that didn't work for months until I caved and applied through Indeed and I did actually start getting responses at least and got my job pretty fast. It's a tutoring gig tho so it might be very different in the restaurant industry I'm not sure.

I found my job from asking someone I know! I was unemployed for a little over a year. Looking for jobs is brutal. I got a few interviews through Indeed but my current job was one I got through going to my dentist and asking if they needed help. I’m wishing you luck in your search!

I got my job by like idk sending out I think 500+ applications but also in the end I messaged every single person I could think of who might know someone or know someone who knows someone to just even get a tiny toe in the door and I think that helped Like literally I had a friend who I thought knew someone who used to be at x magazine. I texted the friend and asked about it and if it seem d okay I’d ask them to put me in touch or some shit Before that I got my job literally on Craigslist it seemed weird but I was sooooo desperate for a job and it ended up being legit tech job w health benefits and good pay So 🤷‍♀️

I use culinary agents for food industry jobs. I also highly recommend going in person to drop your resume off. Even if they’re not publicly hiring they could be looking for people, just to see. If you don’t want to go in person, email with a resume, a cover letter, and offer to stage (depending on what work you’re looking for) Try your luck Also look at places that are not explicitly labeled as restaurants like hotels, cafe’s, grocery stores that have delis/bakeries. Hope you find what you’re looking for !

More specifically, watching your favorite rom com and then your crush's favorite rom com (is there an adult word for crush), back to back at the same time as they are watching them. But instead of the social exhaustion of video calling you just text while you watch them. Even better you guys like each other mutually, so it should be exhilerating, but they cannot and will not be with you so instead it's just a lesson in your terrible self restraint. Exhilerating anyway. Good movies, good conversation. Unbeatable.
