dream survey i wanna start giving people (feel free to answer or not answer):
Do you lucid dream?
*if yes, how often? What do you do when youāre lucid dreaming? (a common answer Iāve run into is flying)

- i started lucid dreaming only after i found out that you can actually control what happens in your dreams, but it still doesn't happen too often. i think it mostly happens when i am kind of bored in my dream and want to change it up. or if i have, so to say, "romantic" dreams...
- i had to google what hypnagogic state means and as i was reading the wikipedia for it i got a deja vu so that was pretty bizarre. i had sleep paralysis once when i was a kid and it was terrifying. don't think i have any other thoughts on this state other than that it takes me at least 30 minutes to fall asleep (on a good day).
- i have all kinds of dreams, -- sometimes i am myself from my perspective, other times i see myself from the outside, and sometimes i am looking at a story of some other people but not participating in it.
- i write down my dreams from time to time so i have a whole collection of them which are fun to look back on! a dream "experience" that stood out to me in the past year was a change up in a recurring dream that i've had since i was a child, where i was a pasanger in a car and suddenly had to take over the driving but couldn't and it wouldn't end well. but last year, as i was studying abroad and felt that i was growing as a person a lot, i had that dream again but this time i was able to take the wheel and drive calmly. i still do not have a driver's license (lol) so i know it wasn't connected with me actually learning how to drive a car. i just love to think that my dreams change as my mind changes.

Interesting about your car dream, thatās one indicator i use sometimes to see if i can lucid dream- Iāll get in a car in my dream and it never works quite right (maybe my brain canāt generate the road fast enough or something) but that usually clues me into āoh Iām dreamingā

wakaport literally yesterday I asked my coworker these dream questions and he was like thereās this thing called the hypnagogic state and I fell into a whole rabbit hole on it hahaha
wakaport like Iāve read it can be tied to creativity like Mary Shelley, Charles dickens, and other people have experimented with it. that your brain can make new connections more easily in that in between state. Sort of lynchian with his transcendental meditation stuff I feel like.
