I had very few experiences with autotheory but Testo Junkie is a remarkable work.
It combines personal writing about the author experiences with medically transitioning, deeply investigating the biological, psychological and social aspects that impacted and changed with the process.
He discusses gender, the capitalist control over it, the pharmaceutical industry and the pornography industry with dialogues with Foucaut's, Derrida's and Butler's theory.

He also recently directed the movie Orlando, my political biography
