If you mix tumeric powder with olive oil it makes a paste that you can put on the bite a couple times for like an hour. It is an anti-inflammatory and over a couple days should help pain and swelling. I think garlic has similar effects too!

Diluted with a carrier oil or (I know this is bad) just full-on applied by itself to your abdominal area. I also use it for headaches bug bites and when I’m sick (either under my nose or dabbed on the shower walls in a hot shower for aromatherapy)… it really really helps. Also heat, magnesium supplements, maybe some kind of low-thc product. I also love California poppy tincture but it has the same constipating effect that opiates have 🤡

I use a warm compress on anything that hurts and most of the time it does the trick (20min on, 20min off). Much more emotionally comforting than a cold compress but do what feels best!

I love that this is becoming more mainstream in recent years. It makes these animals vastly more interesting and complex than they already were. The connection between dinosaurs and birds feels all the more meaningful and apparent, and opens the door to interpreting their behavior and dynamics- we have their living relatives today to learn from. Also, it is cute.

I watched this film recently my mind keeps going back to it. It is auto-biographical, but not quite documentary, about the film’s director trying to create a re-enactment of an event in his past (he stabbed a police officer). That police officer is in the film, played by that same real-life officer too. Throughout, both the director and officer are coaching the actors who are playing their younger selves, and trying to reach a catharsis about this event through them and come to terms with their pasts. It’s a really unique and weird film, it has a lot of twists, and I think it’s one of those films that stays with you for a while after you watch it. It’s free on YouTube, but I don’t know if the subtitles are good- I was watching a version that a friend captioned herself.
