another game i went into with low expectations that have since been shattered! this game is dope, mostly because of the actual gameplay and combat - but the world design is gorgeous. a bit lacking in a few places that would bother other nerds who care about stuff like how empty and lifeless the main city areas feel. pic is an in game screen shot, just walking around. my character build is wizard with a gun :0) it loses 1 star for running really bad on steam deck but id give it about 79 out of 100 stars

A neat text-based adventure game with dark fantasy vibes and borderline perfect presentation. A bit clunky at times, and there are some issues with overwriting stuff I really don't want to be overwritten; like, one time I was swapping around armors to compare, and somehow I ended up with less max health overall. Sometimes, I'll be on a new run and I'll interact with something I know is supposed to give me an item, and I won't get it. It easily makes up for this though with a world that is surprisingly fleshed out and alive. Journal entries tell stories of the lands you find, with histories, peoples and local legends slowly building up this narrative of a world in decay. Combined with the great music and ambience, it becomes a wholly immersive experience. Overall, if you don't get too pressed about bugs and you can wrap your head around the UI it's a really fun adventure! 8/10, don't use capital letters

I really like this game. The music, the visuals, the rush and impact of the combat, the little secrets that are tucked away in the map. I wouldn’t say the game is particularly challenging, but the atmosphere is enough to make me feel like I’m in another world. Very cozy, very chill, with a good balance of exploration and more involved rpg content. 10/10, lofi for vampire hunting

"𝕴𝖋 𝖔𝖚𝖗 𝖑𝖎𝖋𝖊 𝖎𝖘 𝖇𝖚𝖙 𝖆 𝖘𝖕𝖆𝖗𝖐 𝖎𝖓 𝖊𝖞𝖊𝖘 𝖔𝖋 𝖌𝖔𝖉𝖘, 𝖑𝖊𝖙𝖘 𝖇𝖑𝖎𝖓𝖉 𝖙𝖍𝖊𝖒 𝖆𝖙 𝖑𝖊𝖆𝖘𝖙 𝖔𝖓𝖈𝖊" a creature solely known as the knight fights their way through a metroidvania of countless bugs, difficult bosses and platforming challenges, all while uncovering the truth of the eternal kingdom of hallownest this world is something storytellers DREAM of. got that soulsborne-esque drip fed vague lore (though i highly recommend mossbag's videos on the lore as we know it v entertaining i watch the main one to go to sleep all the time). it's almost addicting to try & discover more of the world, tackle the incredibly fun bosses and meet this world's inhabitants (shout out corniselda hive), which is a great motivator especially for a game this difficult. and when i say difficult, i am not even remotely mincing words. carpal tunnel gang beware. true story: i actually had to buy this game twice. i initially got it on switch, but the brief moments of joycon drift i was experiencing was enough to fuck up moments of precision platforming that need to be done pitch perfectly, bc some sections can be extremely unforgiving with checkpoints and backtracking. so, i caved and bought it again on steam, happily, bc a team like this deserves every goddamn penny no exaggeration, a once in a lifetime experience. the amount of content you get for such a low price tag is staggering. triple a's WISH they could be this complete and satisfying anyways gimme silksong already i'm not gettin any younger
