my father has an eclectic suite of music to his tastes, he was the influence with LLB and Eric Johnson, but i also have a mother who LOVES nickelback and thus i listened to them pretty often too, i like em :)

i’ve been revisiting the music that my dad would burn onto CDs for road trips when i was little. lots of 80s/90s soft rock and college rock that has absolutely informed my music taste as an adult. this isn’t an exact science but i feel like i can make an argument for the peter gabriel dad to clairo daughter connection.

i once broke my phone and due to unforeseen circumstances I wasn’t able to get a new one for a couple weeks so I was forced to take time without it, and to be honest, it was beautiful! its nice to say “ah my phone wasn’t on me / my phone was broken so I couldn’t respond.“
since then I’ve done some time intentionally leaving my phone at home when I leave to have a bit of solace and experience the world around me for a moment without needing headphones in or checking notifications constantly. great stuff!!

this is the good stuff right here, aquaphor healing balm stick, it’s literally just a thick chapstick that’s for your hands. i was sick and tired of wanting to heal my skin and having to rub all this goop and cream into my hands (getting my fingertips all goopy in the process). this chapstick thing is a LIFESAVER it avoids weird fingertip texture with cream AND it’s incredibly easy to apply to a smaller area or your entire hand!!
