brick lane is good vibes but its super saturated in that area, so chances are you're not going to get a good bargain!! i would recommend the rokit in brick lane, if u thumb through the rails enough, you'll catch some items that have been reduced. your best bets for cool and purse friendly finds are charity shops. charity shop names to look out for are: mind, pdsa, shelter, traid, british heart foundation (you might get lucky and enter one that's doing a £5 on everything sale) in north london - kentish town, camden town, angel and wood green are a treasure mine. specifically on kentish town high street, theres about 6 of them (age uk being the cheapest) in wood green, there is a great oxfam near the underground station, with other charity shops further down (north london hospice being a gem) a spot for great finds in south london, there are shopping centres that have supermarkets as well as charity shops (one notable spot is on camberwell green) and if you get off at elephant and castle, and walk up towards camberwell, the entire walk up has plenty of them! + Another South London rec! if you are still in london next week sunday (2nd march), you should check out Peckham Carboot! Its a sale that takes place in a school with lots of secondhand / vintage clothes and entry is £1 after 11pm. (Harris Academy Peckham,
112 Peckham Rd,
Peckham, London, SE15 5DZ) if you go to central london, around carnaby st there is a place called beyond retro which has your standard vintage offerings (levi denims, bombers and leather jackets) viel gluck!

I hardly ever enjoy going to thrift stores (idk why they always feel kinda tacky and overpriced?), imo the best play is to go to places that have loads of charity shops in a row. Octavia Foundation is usually the best one and cancer research usually the worst. But they’re all good. That said, the best thrift store I know is called something like Camden Thrift Store, it’s about halfway between Camden Market and the roundhouse and still has the sign from when the building was still a nail salon. Completely cramped never ending racks of clothes, kind of rude owners but in a chic and definitively unhipster way, goated espeiclaly for vintage menswear but has everything

Not a native New Yorker but have lived here since 2011. I’m an actor + antique lover. Here are my top reccs for newcomers (restaurants + thrifting only) lmk if you want more! 🍔Restaurants with unique atmosphere + great food: 1. Freeman’s Alley - lower east side. Unmatched vibes. hidden at the end of an alley. Amazing roasted Brussels sprouts. great cocktails and wine selection. Dark and moody and cozy. 2. Tea & Sympathy - west village authentic spot for British high tea and pub fare. as tiny as a matchbox. Ridiculously charming. The staff are lovely. There’s a british import store next door. 3. Buvette - west village worth the hype. Incredible spot for brunch (or anytime meal). Unbelievably cute. 4. Lucali - Carroll gardens, Brooklyn possibly the best pizza in the city. Beyonce and Taylor swift apparently love it too if that helps sway you at all. No reservations, you need to line up by 4p to get a table. Otherwise order a pie to go for $40 and walk around the historic neighborhood eating your pizza and admiring the brownstones. 5. Sake Bar Decibel - east 9th street Hip underground sake joint with amazing food. Often crowded but the service is very quick. 👗For thrifting clothes: Manhattan: 1. Beacon’s Closet on 13th street (near the new school) 2.Housing Works on West 10th 3.Housing Works on 74th 4.Cobblestones on E 9th 5.East Village Vintage collection on east 12th 6. Crossroads Trading on 2nd ave Brooklyn 1. Beacon’s Closet on Guernsey (it’s MASSIVE) 2. Awoke vintage 3. Monk Vintage 4. Buffalo Exchange on Driggs 5. Unearth Vintage on Smith street 6. Life Boutique thrift on 5th ave 7. The attic brooklyn

this is something i tend to do when i’m buying gifts for my family in the UK, because they have tons of interesting funky boutiques over there! (also importing stuff from other countries there is more difficult than it used to be 😕) i use this trick with smaller fragrance brands, homeware brands and clothing brands that have a store locator section on their website - because if the brand you’re looking at is trendy or unique, you’re sure to discover other unique brands and items in the boutiques that stock them!

What I really enjoy so far with Perfectly Imperfect is its humility and presentation - I feel like these last 4-5 years platforms like Instagram, twitter (Will never call it x fuck you elon!) and even Tiktok to an extent feels like dead internet and I feel like the most important thing about being online is being as authentic to you as possible. I live by a code " to deem one as cringe is truly cringe themselves" or like the platform says perfectly imperfect :)
