Viggo Mortensen

While The Lord of the Rings was being filmed, Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn) would hike for days to the filming locations, in costume with his sword, in order to appear authentically travel-worn. His neighbors called the police on him because he would practice his sword moves in front of his house. He kept the horse that he rode during the film, too, and the crew said he'd spend hours in the barn bonding with the horses before filming. Amazing actor.

man in the iron mask (1998)

Really didn’t think I’d write about this movie, but I feel it has to be shared.  One scene in particular has stuck with me. Imagine for me, a man emerging from a pile of hay revealing the end of a steamy foursome with milk maids. He then gets up, walks himself to a barn, naked with just his boots on, to hang himself. This movie’s about the Three Musketeer’s. Funny and light watch, kind of nostalgic for me because it was always playing in my home as a kid??? Can we guess who’s behind the mask?

This Ew article from 1996 about the making of the crucible movie

There’s so much in this tiny little article that I can’t get over and it will take you two seconds to read so just do it. I drive by the island on my way to the beach so I really think about / re-read the article all the time. “As a fleet of boats carried the cast of The Crucible to the New World, they came upon a sight that would have flustered even the staunchest Puritan. There, roaming around an island off the coast of northern Massachusetts, was Daniel Day-Lewis. His skin had turned the color of a hazelnut, calluses had thickened the palms of his hands, and he was holding a knife.”

Graduating with a b.a. in english

bc it’s what I originally wanted when I first went to college at 17 but I was scared to make writing my job and got a B.S. in Nutrition instead lol Now the goal is an eventual PhD in Victorian Literature but I’m just happy to have made it through this part at 32!
