recently found out Ayoade also directed the double (dostoyevsky adaptation) which I haven’t seen but is sooo bizarre to me because I know him only for submarine and I just can’t imagine his style for that story lol. very curious about that 1

Down with love (2003)

Literally the platonic ideal of the rom com. It’s a bit of a satire a bit of the real thing, nice bright colors and Ewan McGregor. None of the sad hysteria of the rom coms from that era, thankfully 💕 quite the opposite
