I'm a firm believer that the behaviour of users in the average comment section of a platform is reflective of the platform itself. And pi.fyi just so happens to have the most earnest comments in the whole world wide web.
I also think being here has taught me that the algorithm does NOT make you niche or interesting, interesting people do! Before I kinda thought I was just ahead of the trends but I think I just spent enough time on the internet to be marketed to by algorithms earlier on. My month here has given me so many actually unique music finds and whatnot
eatgraeps couldnt be more true. I’m a big youtube guy and I noticed I would get recommended a lot of music/videos that were low view count and then exploded later on. Here however, the music/art/literature I come across are just genuinely deep cuts that are also incredibly well made. Unsure if PI is massively ahead of these trends or not, but regardless the finds here are next level
marxinista a place for shitposting, sincereposting, philosophical musings, political discussions and advocacy, plus all the great music/movie/show recs I’ve been happily yoinking
heck yeah to unabashed yapping
The Internet used to be a place we didn't have constant access to like we do now, and it's almost hard to remember that world. Months ago, I deleted all my social media apps to try and lower my screen time. When that wasn't enough, I got a flip phone. When that stopped being conducive to my quality of life in our "smartphone or bust" chronically online society, I returned to the social media appless iPhone I had before. I'm not an "I don't have social media person," though. I use Instagram.com and Tumblr.com and Pinterest.com and it's great. I "go online" exclusively on my laptop, and I think pi.fyi is such an awesome website! It's social networking more than it's social media to me, and I'm not sure how many other sites I acknowledge the distinction with. Shout out to everyone on here (and the staff ofc). This is a very cool cyberspace to occupy.
Love this new look, a little jarring at first but man is this awesome. Websites are never static, and they aren't made to be. I hope pi.fyi keeps changing forever.
the super bowl has never been less important. let the flashy performances, and multi-million dollar ads remind you of the depravity that is american culture.
keep going to rallies and protests. call, email, post, donate, speak, focus, focus, focus.
