It took me four months to read this beautiful book. I’ve never read a book so dense in its storytelling yet so readable. It’s magical realism at its finest
By Gabriel García Márquez. A magical realist novel that tells the history of a family in a small secluded Columbian town. It starts with the founding of the settlement and follows the growing town and expanding family over several generations— through comedic, tragic and often cyclical circumstances. It’s absurd and confusing and a pretty fun read so far (half way through).
god this book is beautiful. somehow both a slow burn and constantly moving. i read love in the time of cholera more recently, which was very good, but there’s something so magical about 100 years and i just can’t recommend it enough
Me and my sisters would spend literally so much time on barbie.com growing up! It must have been the 2008 version, but I think it’s been wiped from the internet which is so sad
