or, if you have too much attachment, just really try to open them. turn nofs off and you can ween off to start, but I promise when you go to check ur socials to make sure you didn’t miss anything, you will realize you never do, there isn’t anything to miss. In the meantime, pick up a book! I have recs if you want (I stay far away from booktok books). Get a sketch book and draw, try embroidery (it’s easier than you think, I made a little frog and put it on a shirt), start reading the news, do crossword puzzles, clean your room, go for a walk, a drive, call a friend and my personal fave, get a cheap comp notebook and start writing. I realized I had trouble keeping a journal because I would put too much pressure on it and also bought notebooks that were too pretty and delicate.

at least casually. don’t delete the accounts but don’t have the apps on your phone either. rediscover your love of reading thru the magic of recognizing titles strangers are holding on the subway. become a subway reader. don’t use sound as an escape from your thoughts/feelings/surroundings. grocery shopping without headphones is actually kind of beautiful! pick up a new hobby or two or three. one of them should be something you’re not good at, and at least one should be no- or low-cost. never. stop. learning. the library, the parks and rec department, and nearby museums offer great materials already but also usually have free lectures or courses. go outside more. like, a lot more. (took this much less literally, so apologies if it’s not what you’re looking for lol — as a narcoleptic I have no tips on how to Not Sleep since Sleep is basically my job)

I'm kind of in the same situation, I recognise that especially social media are really bad for my mental health, and being a highly sensitive person, my brain cannot sustain that kind of constant bombardment of visual stimuli. I believe being cronically online is a way of maybe find a distraction from my emotions. So here's what I'm trying to do: I just try to be as creative as I can be. Whether it's sketching with a pencil, discovering new music, gardening (even buying a little plant that doesen't need extreme maintainance can do!), and lastly I very much reccomend trying penpaling. You can search for a penpal, start to build a connection and then when you both feel like it, exchange adresses and start sending letters to eachother. You can write how you are feeling, create little surprises, go out to search for magnets or postcards or stickers! It's really nice because once you concentrate on putting together a letter and therefore you are putting the effort to deliver to a friend something great, they will do the same. It makes me feel really good and seen and cared for, and I'm able to do the same and occupy my time for something nice. :)

honestly try anything and everything! nothing exists but the present moment. when i want to switch up my day, i’ll read a new book, learn a new recipe, even watching a show feels more productive than doomscrolling on my phone. the easiest way for me to find something to do is looking around my house and using any object i find, or even cleaning. going on walks! oooh if you live in a city, nothing is better than a walk

i honestly thought it would not only be nomed best picture…but win. It’s beautifullt edited, extremely compelling, secual tension through the roof. The boys’ performances are stellar. Non-linear storyline, with half of it taking place over the day of a challenger between the boys 13 years after the original events of the movie, the other half is sprinkled in filling in events in the last 13 years to get us back to the same day. Oh and it’s a little gay.
