Last year on my birthday, I got a charm from a shop in Binondo, the heart of Manila’s Chinatown. Achi the shopkeeper told me that after getting the charm, I should pray at the Cross of Lognos altar and light three incense sticks to have my wishes answered and not gonna lie, that charm became my little anchor through ups and down. It’s actually the only superstition i believe cos it’s been with me through ups and down
Shoutout to the chinito guy from my hometown ~~ we were born to be lovers but destined to stay strangers. 🤣 We never crossed paths again, but thanks to him, I discovered this tradition.
Now, I’m planning to get a new one. I’m not sure if this is a tradition to other local chinatowns but if ever find yourself in Binondo, Manila or maybe in your local chinatown, grab those charms too!!
