Anytime anything small makes me happy, or brings me joy, I say to myself "today is gonna be a good day". It helps me start off my day on a positive note, and establishes the practice of hope as a daily discipline lol for example: - *leaf gets stuck on the window of our 5 story walk up* today's gonna be a good day - *sees a ladybug on the windowsill* today's gonna be a good day - *hears a fun song on the street while on a commute* today's gonna be a good day - *drinks a glass of water and it tastes good* today's gonna be a good day In my experience, it's positioned my frame of thought as "hey lets look for all the good in our day today" rather than "let me wait for something good to happen"; and that has made a world of difference when it comes to tackling some of the harder obstacles. So yea idk, give it a try and lmk how it goes <3

lately, life has been beating the life out of me!! usually, when this happens, I sulk and feel helpless for many hours. but recently Iā€˜ve started viewing my life like itā€™s a sitcom. now, all of my weekly misfortunesā€”receiving (another) job rejection, finding a mouse in my kitchen, spilling coffee all over my favourite white sweaterā€”become silly & endearing plot points that I can easily brush off & forget about the next day (episode). try it! take care! <3

stray example: when i lived at my last place i set my phone alarm to only deactivate when i scanned a qr code in the bathroom down the hall - meaning that by the time i actually made it there, it was easier for me to just start getting ready for the day instead of going back to sleep. identify the things that sap your willpower and engineer ways to make them really fucking annoying to engage with. then, find the things that you actually *want* to engage with and find ways to make them as effortless as possible. eventually you will find that you get in the habit of doing the right thing often enough that it becomes your natural instinct and not something you have to specifically try to do. this has a compound effect over time - generally shit that is good for you has positive externalities that make it easier to do other things that are good for you.

Itā€™s my birthday! šŸ„³ And thereā€™s no better place to announce it than hereā€”PI.FYI just feels like a big group hug, and somehow, announcing my birthday here feels safe and kinda lovely. šŸ«¶ Another year of getting influenced by all of you (from the simple stuff to the cool stuff), and honestly, life just feels richer because of this place. šŸ’™ Big love to @TYLER for creating the best corner of the internet!! I LOVE U AND PI.FYI šŸ¤ŸāœØ

Itā€™s sweet and sentimentalā€”youā€™re up, ruminating and thinking just like when your taking yourself with a good walk, but with less physical activity. ++ you can reflect with a good song and hear the sound of the bus moving, in transit.

First of all Happy Chinese New Year !! šŸ§§ā¤ļøā€šŸ”„ Last year on my birthday, I got a charm from a shop in Binondo, the heart of Manilaā€™s Chinatown. Achi the shopkeeper told me that after getting the charm, I should pray at the Cross of Lognos altar and light three incense sticks to have my wishes answered and not gonna lie, that charm became my little anchor through ups and down. Itā€™s actually the only superstition i believe cos itā€™s been with me through ups and down Shoutout to the chinito guy from my hometown ~~ we were born to be lovers but destined to stay strangers. šŸ¤£ We never crossed paths again, but thanks to him, I discovered this tradition. Now, Iā€™m planning to get a new one. Iā€™m not sure if this is a tradition to other local chinatowns but if ever find yourself in Binondo, Manila or maybe in your local chinatown, grab those charms too!!
