perhaps not the advice you are looking for but over the years i've found that when it comes to creative work, sometimes you just have to walk away for a little bit. read, watch a movie, go get coffee, move on with your life and eventually the words will come to you.

i dont know if this will be helpful. Or confusing. But when i experience writers block i like to live with it (?) i think that its natural and you have to ride the wave. i think art comes to you. Not the other way around. Yes it is fun to create. but inspiration must naturally strike I would get an ounce of an idea and i would push it and stress over completing it. And then get so frustrated And then its not fun anymore. but now when i get an idea i transfer it to a physical medium and once i get stuck, i leave it alone. Until it comes back to me again. Or not at all. And thatโ€™s ok too. Not everything has to be completed Keeping creative endeavors in the back of your mind can let them marinate and get nice and lovely. easier said than done but try not to get discouraged that youโ€™re not writing right now. There is some kind of beauty in its absence

A big part being creative requires giving yourself the time to sit in a space where your ideas can float for you to let them out.

It's way too easy to over-write, over-paint, over-create. Just because it felt easy doesn't mean that it's bad. In fact, that zen feeling of inspiration *should* feel effortless. Don't let your work ethic ruin something good. At the very least, step back before you do more. If it needs more work, you'll know the next time you look at it.

when i was like 9 and finally got this on dvd it was the only movie i would watch for a few months. still an extremely underappreciated film imo!! a visually stunning tale of overcoming loss and fighting expectations. has its cheesy moments, but the cast sells every line. to this day, the final race is the most euphoric movie scene i've ever seen.

since the beginning of the year i've been using elevate (linked). it gives you a few games to do every day and has been a quick and easy way to remind myself i do in fact have a working brain aside from that, just READ!! i know its a lame answer but i truly feel there's no better way to combat brain rot and increase your attention span. you don't even have to read anything serious - whatever you find fun or interesting, read about it instead of watching tiktoks/youtube videos.
