infinitely better than store bought + if you make more of it you can freeze it. just put fresh basil, almonds/cashews, parmesan, olive oil, garlic + salt in a blender for 2 minutes and there you have it! perfect.
sure it's a waste of time & money, but ONLY if you insist on using pine nuts and cheese. literally tastes just as good if you use any herb and any nut. made dill pesto with just slivered almonds I toasted and some oil and garlic. using rampion/wild garlic means no botulism too. big fan.
My mom did it once when she realized she didn’t have enough basil and it was a revelation.
I do too did this the last night when I realized I also did not have enough basil. I will never remember to buy enough basil again.

STOP mindlessly consuming things!!! enough!!! go sit outside for 10 minutes and think about if you are actually lacking anything material in your life (you’re probably not). if you do need new things have a thing-exchange with your friends it’s so fun! stop falling victim to overconsumption
