I’m wary of people that heavily use chatgpt bc it immediately shows that they lack that investigative drive and I cannot relate

most of the time when i see people using chatgpt its to answer stuff you can just find on wikipedia. i find that most consumer use cases for ai tend to basically be the same reasons people scroll on social media all day. it’s just about immediate gratification so they can pursue more immediate gratification. i’ve found a lot of uses for ai that actually assist me with some of the more tedious aspects of daily life, but in the end i’m using it to help me complete a task rather than letting it do everything for me. i need my own personal satisfaction and sense of accomplishment still and ai tends to make mistakes.

From the people I've met, it's people that are afraid of failure or "getting it wrong". They want short cuts and they want something to blame if it doesn't turn out the way they like.

Using CGPT for writing boring policies that no one reads and making code to edit websites without having to think about it gives me more time to have real life conversations, throw rocks across the pond and squeeze dogs plus enjoy sushi at 10:10 UK time. Let's balance it right and use the stupid robots to our advantage!

It is absolutely due to people being burnt out, and lack of passion. I agree yet I still will use ChatGPT and here is explanation as to why. For the longest time, if you needed help with learning C#, JScript, or what the words grep or sudo meant or had someone explain the most common baud rate to you, you would go on Stack Overflow. The problem with Stack Overflow is best described by these two posts on Reddit. Essentially imagine a community of full of unhappy, rude, nitpicking people who will give you nothing but condescending and patronizing answers, and outright ban you for asking a “low effort” question. ChatGPT won’t verbally berate me, give condescending answers and remove my posts for being low effort lol

in America especially I think it’s the burn out and no lack of joy or passion. the system is killing us here. (I’m not pro chatgtp at all but I can understand why people have gotten “lazy”)

It's fun to talk about a thing and see if the person you're with has any knowledge about it before you automatically search it. Boomers often don't even conceive of bringing their questions to the internet, and most younger people do the exact opposite. It's nice to strike a balance and still have conversations.

all my favorite people are fundamentally curious, and it’s also one of my favorite things this community encourages. it’s so boring and sad to be incurious! ask questions! listen to the answers! thank goodness we’re all here!
