The hyaluronic acid serum. I got a sample from Emily Montague at Shani Darden and was hooked. It’s bad that this serum is so expensive, but it’s even worse that it’s absolutely worth it. I pat it into my skin on select mornings — budgeting! — and I look like a new person. Makes my skin say: Ain't no miles on this here new body.

I had been hearing the most insane things about the Westman Atelier Vitamin C Serum. The before/afters are wild, and it is just one single ingredient, apparently from Japan, that Gucci was obsessed with. I could not justify spending $325 for LESS than 1oz. I found the supplier, and you can order direct from them. This concentrate is amazing. It's a very thick, oil consistency, and after 1 week of daily use I noticed a difference in appearance of my tone and pigmentation. I use in the am and follow with SPF. No moisturizer necessary as this is v hydrating.

A store in Greenpoint that feels like a Nora Ephron column. It sells “dinner and party essentials,” which means: caviar, tinned fish, various prosciuttos and cheeses, kooky drinkware, these gluten free crackers I love that don’t taste gluten free. Also: Big Night is the title of a very good Stanley Tucci movie.

Getting shit framed is, by a wide margin, the most adult thing I do. It’s luxurious! I started framing magazines I’d written cover stories for — silly, stupidly celebratory — and now I frame movie posters and stills. (I’m addicted to Posteritati.) Framing is more than an errand, it’s a ritual. It’s a way of saying: “I love this $100 and a custom cut piece of glass-worth.” I go to Framebridge because it’s closest to my apartment.
