Oh other things I am thinking are Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C (ridiculously expensive but its what famous people use to not get sick and I think it does work somehow), Natural Calm Magnesium (I have taken this every night for years since someone told me there’s some cult that gives it to children to keep them from being hyper), This instagram lizard named MacGyver, Old Spice men’s deodorant, breaking up a protein bar into tiny pieces and putting it into a bowl of popcorn, Alka Seltzer chews

this was partially my first rec. It’s the supplements (and now medication) I take in the morning, and now into the afternoon and evening. it’s my elixir that keeps me calm+energized, somehow. Elixir: Morning: L-theanine first. 5-HTP after breakfast, along with biotin for hair growth and, finally, between days 14-28 of my menstrual cycle: fluoxetine. (For pms if that isn’t clear) Afternoon; magnesium citrate gummy (two) that i got from the grocery store near my house. The only other place I found them was at erewhon?? So obvi had to cop if not just for the reminder of home (lol). Evening: hour before bed I take a magnesium pill. it gets me sooo ready for sleep. Sometimes I just do this but other times I’ll also take two valerian capsules, which help a lot with sleep but it doesn’t have melatonin in it which is ideal. This may seem crazy/a lot but that’s what post grad life is like babe 😆😆 , and it’s helping w this transition 🙈🙈

When I’m really mentally spiraling I’ll take some magnesium, go to bed, and try to get some vitamin c, sunlight, exercise, and protein in the morning (in that order). 99% of the time it cures me of my ills

It took a realllllllly long time for me to get on board with magnesium. I thought it was overrated. (Generally I don’t understand supplements. I’m more of a eat-the-foods-that have-the-vitamins-and-minerals-you-need type of girl.) But this magnesium is IT. First of all, you mix it with water and it fizzes which is really satisfying. Secondly, it tastes great. Like bitter, slightly stale seltzer? In a good way, I promise. Some people like to add tart cherry juice to the mixture because apparently tart cherry juice is a good source of melatonin? But not me. I like it AU NATUREL.

Okay... I think honestly people are surprised to learn that I am deeply obsessed with like, “health and fitness” culture. I think it is SO FUN and riveting and it occupies sooo much of my thoughts and my time. I have been told that this does not suit my personality. It’s like God flipped a wrong switch and gave “loves to work out” to me instead of the right person. But if I was REALLY being honest in this list and not trying to impress anyone, all my recommendations would be about that. But I’m trying for some variety, so I will just say that the government does not want you to know about The Ready State.Dr. Kelly Starrett is an amazing man. If you have a foam roller, lacrosse balls, tennis balls, a towel, NOTHING, there’s a 5/10/20/30 minute video you can do where you follow along with him as he talks you through mobilizing and restoring  function to your own tissues and muscular systems and teaches you how one affects the other etc. If that sounds really boring,  you don’t have to retain any of the information, you can just give yourself a better massage than anyone you would pay could. It hurts really bad fyiI think everyone in the world should be devoting at least like 5 min a day to this. It will literally keep you from needing surgery later. “Doctors HATE him!” etc(Equally great alternative, higher production value- Jill Miller’s YogaTuneUp balls -- --  and corresponding videos. I think she has a lot of free Youtube stuff too that might not even require lacrosse balls)

Cerave Healing Ointment is Vaseline’s superior. The whole “Cerave is better than the shit at Sephora that costs 200 dollars and has fragrances that are bad for your skin” stuff is well covered territory so we won’t go over it.. Anyway after putting on all my skincare shit I will put a very thick layer of Cerave Healing Ointment all over my entire face. Every night.I use Retin-A so my face hurts really bad all the time and is peeling and dry. Which I guess is supposed to be a good thing. Here are other things that help with that:Face Hero oilSulwhasoo Overnight Vitalizing Ginseng MaskHada Labo Hyaluronic AcidI can’t use it any more due to what I was saying about my face being on fire but I really recommend Paula’s Choice 2% BHA. and also all her other products. Reliable brand. If you just want to go to one place and get everything you need, we trust her. Nothing is going to irritate your skin or have anything dumb in it.

I love taking fitness classes IRL and I think boutique fitness is so interesting and literally, like I said, could just make this whole thing about that. So if you ARE interested in recommendations of studios and teachers and stuff reach out to me bc I am going to STOP but I did wanna say-- if you’re someone who’s been practicing yoga for a long time, especially at home, it can get kind of monotonous- you start to be able to predict where you’re going next, like, Warrior 2, then Reverse Warrior, then Triangle. Etc. So I recently found this girl I am in love with and her name is Nicole and she doesn’t upload videos very often but they’re like the closest to an in-studio experience I’ve ever had at home. Her sequencing is so creative!!  She’s an artist. It’s definitely for more experienced people, but if that is you, I think you will love her. She is amazing at coming up with crazy flows that are so fun and challenging. And a lot of them are a nice hour long!!If you are newer to yoga and are maybe burnt out on Adrienne, I think you would love Yoga With Kassandra...  she’s really accessible.. this is all free on YouTube I should have specified
