Monumental - completely rewired my brain for that period in American history but also my brain in general. I don't look at the world the same way I did before I read this.

This book rearranged how I looked at the subject matter. Biggest argument it makes is: let's bring back class solidarity as a force for social change. Hopefully 2020 isn't as close as we come to that in our lifetimes.

of the works that have influenced my daily life and how I think about art I wouldn’t say its number one (more indebted to his successors and predecessors, Mark Fisher and so on), but ”Postmodernism” beyond being extremely compelling about the state of art also happens to be one of the most beautiful works written in English, the fusion of critical writing and prose. the political unconscious is also great too, underrated as hell, and if you like international cinema it’s a must-read
