It’s not easy, I’m still tough on myself, but when I catch myself thinking negatively about things I’m doing wrong or not perfect, I imagine how my inner child would feel and I would comfort and forgive her, reassuring her that it’s ok and that we’ll figure out what we can do better

my therapist made me do this once and it was absolutely brutal… so many tears and compassion just comes flooding in… if you are ever finding your inner voice to be too mean and harsh this works so well i’m so serious

My 20s has been spent on developing myself as a grown kid outta high school becoming a young independent adult, turning 20 doesn’t have to mean that a perfect life should be sorted out for you. It means that you have more independence and capacity to forge your own life, at your own pace, even if it will take until your 30s. After all, we’re all forms of ephemeral art
