Every January I binge all of Madonna’s music and I’ve come to my conclusion that my favorite iteration of Madge’s music is when she goes for a more somber midtempo semi-ambient moment (I don’t think I’m describing this accurately, but What It Feels Like for a Girl, Drowned World/Substitute for Love, you could maybe even throw Get Together on here). I think it’s just an exciting lane for her because I think of her as this loud and brash figure, so when she goes for a quieter and more laid back moment it’s really attention grabbing. Woah!!!!
