If youā€™re interested in history, that is. Dissect- dissects albums, so fascinating. Both Kendrick seasons and Tyler the creatorā€˜s are my favorite Lizard people- funny pod about peopleā€™s conspiracy theories Disgraceland- dramatic retellings of musiciansā€™ mischief

deep dives on schemes, scams, or corporate / political scandals are very interesting and generally not insensitive about violence in the way the ā€œtrue crimeā€ genre can be, i donā€™t really like the ā€œtrue crimeā€ genre bc of that so here are some outside that main realm, either recā€™d to me (irl) or that i have listened to that are really interesting: - the dropout: follows the rise and fall of everyoneā€™s favorite girlboss and founder of theranos, elizabeth holmes and how she got a bunch of funding to start a healthcare company based on fake science! and also how she got found out. (if you enjoy it, thereā€™s also bad blood: the final chapter) - hooked: tells the story of a famous bank robber and also the US opioid epidemic (together) - queen of the con: really wild, this woman literally conned a bunch of professional athletes out of their money just by lying all the time - youā€™re wrong about: they have episodes on all topics (like urban legends, movies, politics etc) but some are on famous ā€crimeā€ stories and debunking common myths, like flight 571, tonya harding, etc. imo it is not sensationalized the way some of the ā€œmurder podcastsā€ are but possibly bc itā€™s not a true crime podcast - mother country radicals: set mostly in the 1970s, it talks about this guyā€™s experience growing up with the Weather Underground, and their many militant radical actions (like, they literally bomb the government, rob banks to fund their organizing, prison breaks etc) - the dream (season one): basically talks about a ton of MLMs with crazy examples and some of the more well-known ones!

The Deck great podcast that brings attention to cold cases that need publicity and are close to being solved Itā€™s in relation to the cold case playing card decks (a deck w cards featuring a photograph and factual info about the unsolved case) these decks are passed out to hundreds of thousands of inmates and bc of them there are multiple cold cases that have now been solved itā€™s legitimately investigative reporting and brings awareness to a good cause they also donate majority of proceeds to a foundation that helps provide resourses to help solve these homicides Itā€™s definitely gory at times, and sad, but itā€™s interesting if youā€™re into that sort of thing Cults Literally just discusses different cults throughout the world and history and why ppl join them/ how cult leaders come to be Some episodes are gruesome and some are crazy interesting in the sense of how much some cults have impacted culture as it is today itā€™s really insightful

This episode was released so long ago but I still will go back and listen to it every now and then and catch myself thinking of it. This episode goes into the ideas of good and evil, then talks about the story of Fritz Huber. If you love science and ethics and contemplating I highly recommend. 10/10 Runner up: SPOOKED- The Iron Gate If you need something to give you goosebumps, spooked is for you! It is so well produced and this particular episode gets me every time. P.S- can you tell I like public radio???

This has become the norm and every day I grow more disturbed. I understand if somebody is behaving in a harmful way, that is good to document and put out there. But as a whole, it seems, we have become so comfortable with recording people just living their lives. I saw a video of a guy working and the caption of the video was that he was so hot, we needed to find him!!! Why are you providing the Internet with his face and location instead of just going up to talk to him? I saw another of two people on the subway, seemingly a couple, having a very emotional moment. How would you feel if you open up an app and saw a video like that of yourself? I donā€™t like this level of sibling society surveillance. Why are you videoing an elderly person with sad music dubbed over it to gain likes? It is WEIRD. Donā€™t even get me started on videos of children. It is WEIRD to use a stranger without their consent to get some kind of fake validation. Get a life. I donā€™t mean to come on here and share something so negative, I just donā€™t have anywhere else to put it and itā€™s gnawing at me.
