-Beefsteak tomatoes
-Russian or Japanese mayo (anything but American mayo! This is not an option!)
-Sourdough, grilled in lots of olive oil
-salt + pep to taste
If you’re fancy, throw some garlic confit into the mayo and weep with delight 🥹
I know this is a ~seasonal~ summer thing oops but hits for me year round
My easy delish recipe
1. Grab a fancy looking tomato from the fancy grocery store
2. Toast 2 slices sourdough so they’re crispy (this is ur only texture so make it count) and then spread with kewpie mayo
3. Cut tomato into thick slices, pat dry, then season with salt and pepper and chives if you have, assemble
Tomato must be heirloom and room temp, bread must be toasted, you must add salt, preferably plant-based mayo.
Also, I was thinking about how I could see a restaurant literally charging $15 for this somewhere on the lower east side.
Made this little pocket altar earlier this year and take it with me in all of my bags as a good luck charm. In it are little charms passed down throughout my family, a locket with pics of my parents in it, a ballerina from a bracelet my great grandma gave me at my first dance recital (when I was 3), and a mini Polaroid of my cutie gf 🥹💖💫
My little black magic, Mischa (L), just recently passed away after two bouts of cancer. She was my dream cat. I’ll never be the same. Her little sister, Manke (R), misses her like crazy and likes to cuddle her sweater. ♥️
