i first did a linocut print for a class last year, and i bought some of my own tools (a little starter kit was like $19 at hobby lobby), and i love that i can make the design once and then print with it as many times as i want! the carving process is very meditative to me- it doesn't take much thinking once you have the design on the block. personally i prefer rubber carving blocks over lino because its much easier to cut tho

Was inspired by title cards in an almodovar movie a year ago and spent almost that amount of time getting supplies, creating the photo emulsions, developing a screen, and then making actual prints…. ive only got these 4 little guys to show for it right now but I’m so proud of myself and I recommend it as a hobby!! Having the time oml in my tiny apt kitchen

I love crafting and junk journaling but it can be an expensive/over-consumptive hobby. I’ve started taking to Canva to make collages of images I find on Pinterest or Google and print them out at home. I also create motifs or find prints and collages on Pinterest and print those out for background paper. And I have photo paper so that I can print pictures that look just as good as getting them from a print shop. Printer ink can be expensive but when I think about how much I’ve been able to create and compare it to spending the price of ink on a single stationery shopping trip, it balances out for me.

it's become a weekly tradition of mine to bake something on wednesday evenings while my favorite d&d show is live, and its so fun to make new things and realize that they aren't that tough to make (most of the time)! i made biscotti for the first time ever yesterday and they weren't perfect, but they weren't nearly as tough to make as i imagined!

the other day i had a rotten sore throat w/ a quite empty pantry, so i just made a super simple pastina recipe (broth, orzo, parmesan, butter, & pepper) and i'm telling you. it was like magic how much better i felt! i wasn't cured or anything, but i felt leagues better for a few hours :)

you just have to fake interest for like 10 seconds when you're getting the food itself and then you can leave right away with ur cookie or donut or whatever. love it.
