I hadn't seen my friend since New Year's Eve. Now it was October, her wedding day, and she barely gave me the chance to gush over her gorgeous dress, her makeup, her jewelry.
"You look happier," she said. "Your energy has changed. It's much calmer now. I'm happy for you."
I love her for taking the time out of her special day to notice me like that.

On a trip with some friends, i had the chance to meet two new people which one I still meet to this day since they are in a serious relationship with my bestfriend, however the second person who gave me this compliment sadly i didn’t see them since that trip.
We had the chance to enjoy a good trip all together and we got all along, the reason why they said that is because they knew i fancied them however they didn’t share the same thing but at the end of the trip when we dropped them off at the airport, they gave me the longest hug and just simply said “ it was nice meeting you, you are a beautiful person, don’t ever change”

The Dream has always been to become a writer, to pay my bills with my words - but The Dream isn't all that realistic. When money was running out quickly in July, I took a temp job at the HR department of a company full of finance bros. I was supposed to work there for four weeks, but Monday marks the start of week 10. I sort files all day, take notes for Substack pieces while I work, and go home to write all night. Afraid I'd never find a day job again, I found my peace of mind on the 5th floor of Rotterdam's Willemswerf. If only I could stay...
