I LOVE The Sundays and that album so much, it is one of my favorites of all time. The Cranberries are an obvious choice for similar sounding bands since Dolores O'Riordan and Harriet Wheeler have similarly powerful vocals. This album specifically came out 3 years after RW&A is really great. Cocteau Twins also have a somewhat similar thing going on, and maybe even Slow Pulp in a more folky way.

Okay this is a hard one to think of. I just gave Bull in the Heather a listen and itā€™s very 90s grunge, but I think uniquely still a very calm cadence. Vocally she kind of reminds me of Hole, maybe some songs like Violet or even Doll Parts off the Live Through This album would work, but I feel like Hole does build up in the song a little more. Possibly Cannonball by The Breeders? Itā€™s one that is very quintessential 90s to me also.

As Perfectly Imperfect subscribers know, being into shit is cool. This was an early rec I made on the PI.FYI app, inspired by Facebookā€™s ā€œlikeā€ feature formerly being called ā€œbecome a fanā€ because I find the verbiage so sweet and so supportive. Itā€™ll always be way cooler to be an embarrassing superfan than to have 0 interests.Ā
