plasticana gardana clog. the brooklyn man shoe. so damn comfy and goes with EVERYTHING. 10/10 my fav shoes of all time probably, have worn nearly every day the last 14 months
anything from oree nyc, they basically make what i call doc martens for adults and most all their shoes have a lug sole with foam spacer. i have their infantry boots and morgan derbies. big fan
timberland 3 eye mocs. theres some sick versions out there, i have a supreme collab pair with braided leather from 2022 that i still wear a good amount
vintage gucci loafers or horatio beaufoy loafers. i like the lug sole ones most personally but all look great with basically anything. have personally owned horatioโs standard beaufoy model and would avoid the tumbled leather options though they get floppy with time
adidas superstar. less played out than a samba but still great. have owned many black pairs over the years. watch out for the mesh lining it is susceptible to overwear/ripping if you donโt have them in a rotation, in rotation they can last years
literally any kind of mary jane, especially the tabi ones but the mary jane is just a beautiful shoe in basically all incarnations. donโt own any rn would love to though

i don't think anyone ever intends to become a recreational ornithologist. but i've noticed that it definitely creeps up on you slowly in your mid-twenties. it starts with noticing how funny pigeons are, then learning pigeon lore, and suddenly you're feeding your neighbourhood birds every morning and buying books on birds. as a child i idolised the pigeon lady in home alone 2, and i woke up this morning and realised โ i AM the pigeon lady ๐ฆ

reading is a habit of building and developing your empathy and critical thinking skills. youโre forced to sit with an idea for however long you are reading it and forced to contextualise it and comprehend it within your own life and perspective. You canโt just scroll away or pause or put it on 2x speed. you have to sit with it. itโs super underrated, but genuinely Iโve made this a habit for the last year and feel like a totally different person. also you come out of it having learned something new or seeing the world in a slightly new way. I literally do not see any downsides to reading. make reading cool again! also you donโt have to do it in one big block, you can space it out โ 15 mins here, 45 there โ whatever works for you!

our cultural obsession with being perceived as cool is a disease. its peak capitalistic/consumerist propaganda. fuck being cool. like what you like and who cares if it's cool or not. it's tiresome and we need to leave it in 2024. literally nothing gives me the ick more than people who betray themselves in an attempt to be perceived as cool by the masses. be yourself โ even if it means you're 'uncool'.
