short form videos are a blight

I loathe short-form videos. Every time I'm lured into watching one, I feel like I'm stuck in an episode of black mirror or that one scene in a clockwork orange. I can feel my attention span getting chiseled away with every vacuous second. Just absolute baby-brained entertainment - and don't even get me started on the endless echo of copies and references that lack even a hint of originality.

That one ok go music video

I just watched a TikTok (🔗) OK Go made about making the music video for Here It Goes Again and it warmed my heart. Sometimes we become so familiar with something we forget how magic it is. I really love reminiscing early internet / YouTube stuff, and this sums up the silliness a lot I think. OK Go were truly ahead of their time! Fuck ur big budget mv!!

YT, Lancey Foux, and Fimiguerrero have the best music videos if you’re looking for frutiger metro/y2k visuals. So refreshing in an age where ppl are caring less and less about their craft. I shall make another rec about craft i’m thinking.

Don‘t Feed the ai

Not to beat a dead horse but google has now foisted integration of it‘s Gemini AI into basic gmail / drive functionality. Don’t offload your critical faculties to a super computer. Write that email. Use your brain. Every time you feed this thing it will get “better” and you are training it to replace you.
