its easier to fill the space and you can just photo copy them to share with others. i think it’s a great way to start. and you can do anything you want! I’m currently making one based on a silly text exchange I had with my partner lol
Step one: Learn how to fold a sheet of paper into a mini zine
Step two: Fill in the pages
Step three: Make one every week
There is something about having three spreads and a cover to fill in every week that gives the perfect balance of creative freedom/creative constraints with absolutely no stakes.
you know how on google you can click feeling lucky twice and then it will bring you to a random page or search result? well whatever it lands on research that a little bit and then make a one page zine out of it. after a while you'll have a very nice little zine collection and maybe you'll find something you're actually interested in!
i made them, people comment on them all the time, the barista at one of my local coffee places was really sad about the non-existence of my etsy store.
some people don’t know there is term for why you feel more productive doing work at a cafe with people all around you instead of alone in your home. or why folding laundry becomes less daunting when you have a buddy there to chat with. when I’m helping students apply for health insurance I’m really just body doubling with them so they dont feel as anxious about doing it.
